Please note that the Association is not a complaint-handling body and cannot deal with your complaint. It also cannot give consumer or legal advice.
If you cannot find an appropriate Ombudsman or complaint-handling scheme on this website, please contact Consumer Direct on 08454 040506 for consumer advice and help (Great Britain only).
For other advice (in the UK), contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Law Centre.
For those responding to HM Courts Service leaflet EX301 (I’m in a dispute – what can I do?), please note that Ombudsmen deal only about disputes with public organisations (eg Central Government, devolved governments and Local Government and their agencies) and certain private organisations, as follows:
- Financial services firms
- Solicitors and Barristers
- Estate agent and some letting agents
- Telecommunications companies
- Energy supplier (gas and electricity)
- Some removals company
- British Waterways
- Housing associations
- Private landlord who have voluntarily registered with the Housing Ombudsman
- Supplier of furniture who are voluntary members of the Furniture Retail Association (FRA)
Please also note that the staffing arrangements of the Association’s office does not necessarily allow for an immediate response to telephone or email messages, although we will respond as soon as possible.
For website enquiries contact John Bowling.
